Mediterranean Turkey Burgers

A few years ago hubby stumbled upon these amazing chicken burgers from haute and healthy living. Over the years, we’ve made a few swaps and changes resulting in our go to burger patty recipe, inspired by the awesome chicken patties above.

Juicy, flavorful, and packed with protein — these Mediterranean Turkey Burgers are everything you want in a weeknight dinner or meal prep staple. Infused with spinach, garlic, feta, and just a touch of heat from sriracha, they’re a lighter twist on a classic burger that doesn’t skimp on flavor.

These burgers hold up beautifully on the grill, making them perfect for summer nights, but they’re just as easy to cook indoors on a grill pan or skillet. Serve them tucked into a gluten-free pita with tzatziki, alongside a Greek salad, or on their own with roasted veggies for a balanced, macro-friendly meal.

Ingredients (Makes 12 Burgers)

3 lbs 93% lean ground turkey

10 cloves garlic, minced

16 oz fresh spinach

1 cup red onion, finely chopped

6 oz Mediterranean feta, crumbled

1 tbsp Yellowbird Blue Agave Sriracha (or hot sauce of choice)

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

⅔ tbsp olive oil (for sautéing spinach)

Avocado cooking spray (for grill)

Macros (per burger, 12 servings): ~213 calories

Directions

1. Prepare the Spinach: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Add spinach and toss constantly with tongs until wilted.

2. Remove Excess Moisture: Transfer the cooked spinach to a strainer, then to a cheesecloth or paper towel. Squeeze firmly to remove as much liquid as possible. Chop spinach and garlic mixture finely.

3. Mix the Burgers: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped spinach/garlic mixture, red onion, feta, sriracha, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined — don’t overwork the meat.

4. Form Patties: Divide mixture into 12 equal portions and shape into patties.

5. Grill: Spray grill grates with avocado cooking spray. Cook patties over medium-high heat for about 7 minutes per side, or until cooked through (internal temp 165°F).

6. Serve & Enjoy: Serve warm on a bun, pita, or with fresh Mediterranean sides.

💡 Meal Prep Tip: These burgers reheat well and can also be frozen. Just wrap each patty individually and store in a freezer bag for a quick protein option anytime.
