A festive, chocolatey, protein-packed treat that’s perfect for Halloween parties, school celebrations, and homemade gifts!

Halloween treats don’t have to be complicated to be fun! These No-Bake Halloween Protein Bites come together in one bowl with a handful of pantry ingredients, chocolate protein powder, creamy almond butter, and colorful Halloween sprinkles.

They’re soft, rich, chocolatey, and just sweet enough to feel like a treat. Plus, there’s no baking required!

I made these festive little bites as Halloween treats for my kids’ bus driver and school administrators. It’s such a simple way to show a little appreciation to the people who help make our kids’ school days special. And with a few seasonal sprinkles, they’re ready for gifting!

They’re also easy to customize for school celebrations. Simply swap the almond butter for sunflower seed butter for a nut-free option, and check that the remaining ingredients are allergy-friendly, too.

Why You’ll Love These Halloween Protein Bites

  • No baking required: Just mix, scoop, roll, and decorate!
  • Made in one bowl: Minimal prep and cleanup.
  • Protein-packed: Chocolate protein powder and almond butter add protein to every bite.
  • Kid-friendly: Little helpers can roll the dough and add Halloween sprinkles.
  • Perfect for gifting: Package a few in a festive treat bag or container for teachers, neighbors, or friends.
  • Easy to customize: Change the sprinkles to make these for practically any holiday or celebration.

No-Bake Halloween Protein Bites Recipe

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Chill Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Yield: Approximately 28 bites

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups oat flour (certified gluten-free if needed)
  • ¾ cup chocolate protein powder (I used Clean Simple Eats Brownie Batter)
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup creamy almond butter
  • 9 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons reduced-fat milk, plus more if needed
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Halloween sprinkles, for decorating

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
  2. Add the wet ingredients. Stir in the creamy almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and milk until everything is incorporated.
  3. Adjust the consistency. The mixture should form a thick dough that holds together when pressed. If it’s too dry, add a little extra milk, one teaspoon at a time.
  4. Scoop and roll. Using a small cookie scoop, portion the mixture into approximately 28 bites. Roll each portion between your palms to form a smooth ball.
  5. Add the Halloween fun! Roll or gently press the bites into Halloween sprinkles until decorated to your liking.
  6. Chill and enjoy. Refrigerate for approximately 20 minutes to help the bites firm up before serving or packaging.

Tips for Making the Best Protein Bites

Choose a Creamy Almond Butter

For this recipe, I recommend a smooth, creamy almond butter. Its rich, nutty flavor pairs perfectly with the chocolate and helps create a soft, moist texture.

Make Them Nut-Free for School

I originally made these using sunflower seed butter so they could be shared at school. It’s an easy substitute for almond butter, although the flavor is a little more subtle.

If you’re making these for a nut-free classroom or event, use sunflower seed butter and double-check the labels on your protein powder, sprinkles, and other ingredients to ensure they’re appropriate for the school’s allergy policies.

Don’t Skip the Salt

A little salt brings out the chocolate flavor and balances the sweetness. It’s a small addition that makes a difference, especially when using sunflower seed butter.

Adjust the Milk as Needed

Different protein powders and nut butters can affect the consistency of the dough. If your mixture seems crumbly, add a splash of milk until it’s easy to roll.

Switch Up the Sprinkles

One of my favorite things about this recipe is how easily you can adapt it for different occasions. Try red and green sprinkles for Christmas, pink and red hearts for Valentine’s Day, or rainbow sprinkles for a birthday celebration.

Nutrition Information

These bites combine carbohydrates from oat flour and maple syrup with protein from chocolate protein powder and almond butter. They’re a convenient make-ahead snack when you’re craving something chocolatey.

Estimated macros per bite (28 servings):

105 calories | 5g protein | 11g carbs | 5g fat | 2g fiber

Nutrition information is estimated using creamy almond butter and may vary depending on the brands of protein powder, almond butter, maple syrup, and sprinkles used.

How to Store Halloween Protein Bites

Store your protein bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

You can also freeze them in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before enjoying.

If you’re making these ahead for a school celebration or gifting, keep them refrigerated until you’re ready to package or serve.

A Simple Way to Celebrate Halloween

Sometimes the simplest homemade treats are the most fun to share. These Halloween Protein Bites are easy enough to make on a busy weeknight and festive enough to package up for someone special.

And once Halloween is over, you can keep the recipe in your rotation and simply change the sprinkles for the next celebration!
